The 15th Annual Oregon Active Transportation Summit (or OATS) in 2026 will be held at Portland State University’s Smith Memorial Student Union and bring together government practitioners, nonprofit leaders, private sector experts, and community advocates to advance innovative solutions in active transportation and public transit. This annual event provides Oregon’s premier platform to share best practices, tackle pressing challenges, and explore strategies that drive safety, equity, climate action, and community mobility.

Hosted by The Street Trust in partnership with the Transportation Research and Education Center at Portland State University, this year’s summit will feature compelling keynote speakers, roundtables with lawmakers and decision-makers, and advocacy updates from coalition partners statewide. OATS is your opportunity to network and hear from innovators in active transportation across sectors like:

– Amy Rynell of Active Transportation Alliance in Chicago who will share lessons from their historic legislative win for transit.
– At the Innovators Lunch: Coach Sam Balto of Bike Bus World and Portland City Councilor Angelita Morillo
– You’ll enjoy insightful presentations, panel discussions, mobile workshops, and study tours, as well as valuable social time — including happy hours, an evening lightning slide/PechaKucha-style storytelling event at Clinton Street Theater, The Street Trust Annual Meeting, the Safe Routes to School Annual Meeting, and the OATS bike ride!
