Walk+Roll

Walk+Roll to School October

Walk+Roll October is unable to proceed as usual this fall due to school closures in Oregon. We hope that students are remaining active, so to that end we'd like to offer some resources for families to walk and roll safely with their children. Please visit this page to get some resources and ideas to keep students walking and rolling all year long! International Walk+Roll to School Day is Wednesday, October 7. We hope you take some to get moving and stay active that day and every day this fall to keep students healthy!

Walk + Roll October

We are also making a calendar and need Oregon K-8 students to submit art showing us how they walk and roll safely that we can feature in it it! Please visit this page to get more info and enter the contest. Entries will be open until October 31.

Incentive ordering is open! Orders must be placed by October 1 in order to arrive by October 7. Incentive ordering will remain open until October 31.

We know this year will be different, so join our Facebook group to get in on the conversation and share ideas and successes with other school champions.

More information on Walk+Roll to School Day:

International Walk+Roll to School Day is a global event that involves communities from more than 40 countries walking and rolling to school on the same day. It began in 1997 as a one-day event and over time, this event has become part of a movement for year-round safe routes to school and a celebration – with record-breaking participation – each October. Today, thousands of schools across America – from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico – participate every October. This event takes place on the first full week of October each year and we offer free incentives such as stickers and pencils to give to students at your event.

We strongly encourage schools to have students Walk+Roll for the month of October in order to encourage healthy habits that will continue all year long. Your school can choose to participate one day, one week, one day over multiple weeks, or the entire month.
