Women Bike: Gal’s Group Ride, Picnic, and Crafts with Kiah!

Kiah Frohnauer is a Women Bike Roll Model who, in addition to bike-commuting, enjoys leisurely rides through Portland’s neighborhoods and natural areas. Having a background in environmental studies, Kiah is passionate about cycling as a means to drastically reduce her carbon footprint. She actively encourages other women to use bicycling for fun and transportation as well. Read more about Kiah here!

Last weekend, ten women joined Kiah on a fun, easy 5-mile ride around SE Portland. It was the perfect kind of fall day, sunny and clear, so the group took to the Eastbank Esplanade. They rode up the popular Clinton Street neighborhood greenway, and coasted over to Belmont Street, where they concluded their ride at Sweet Hereafter. There, the group enjoyed delicious vegan snacks on the patio and worked to send off summer and embrace autumn by making autumn-inspired crafts for their bikes. A collection of sweet bike decor emerged from the craft pile in the form of ghosts, spiders, and pumpkins!
