Registration for the Bike More Challenge is now open!

Home page screenshotWe’ve been talking about it for awhile and it’s almost here – the Bike More Challenge! The new and improved Challenge is for new and existing riders alike and it’s all about who can #bikemore during the beautiful month of May (National Bike Month)! And it’s even easier to win this year because every ride counts. That means participants will now be able to log their bike rides to work, the store, or just for fun. If you’re pedaling, it counts!

Here are four steps to lead you and your team to Bike More Challenge glory:

  1. Join your workplace team
Because we have a new site this year, we will be starting the Challenge with a clean team slate. We asked previous Team Captains to create their teams on the site , so your team may have already been created. If so, simply select the appropriate team when you register. If you don’t see your team’s name, please follow these super easy step-by-step instructions to create your team. Register! button
  2. Check out all the cool Rider tips
Knowledge is power! That’s why we’ve put together some great resources to make you a smarter, stronger, and more confident bicyclist. You can find tips on basic repairs, gearing up, picking a route, and all sorts of other stuff here.
  3. Schedule a Commute Clinic
Make sure you and the rest of your team are ready to rumble! One of the BTA’s knowledgeable staff will come to you for a one-hour, lunch-time clinic to teach you and your teammates about basic riding laws, best practices, route planning, bike maintenance, and gear to help make your commute more comfortable, safe, and all around awesome! Schedule Today! button
  4. Ride, Earn Points, Win Prizes, and Get Discounts
Pedal anywhere, anytime during May, log your trips and get points! (You get bonus points for encouraging others to ride.) We have a slew of prizes for people who log their trips, so be sure to log them every day! You’ll also get discounts from Whole Foods, Chinook Book, Portland Design Works, and Showers Pass for logging your daily trips.

You can register for the Challenge and start logging your trips NOW.

I am the Team Captain for ODOT region 1. Do I need to register for the challenge?

I can still log my time.

And please add me to your distribution list.

I work for a community bank with branches all over western Oregon, some in smaller communities. It seems my company would be ideal for promoting the Challenge across the state. But in the past, when I tried to get material from BTA to promote the program, I was told there was none. I wanted to add something to our employee newsletter. Plus, three weeks to organize and promote is not enough time. I was so frustrated with BTA’s non-response and lack of timely marketing, that I quit. As far as I know, no one from my company participated last year.

And no one will this year either. I can’t build a team that covers central and western Oregon in three weeks.
