November 19th: Advocacy 101

Advocacy 101

The Bicycle Transportation Alliance presents: “Tips for Effective Advocacy”

Tuesday, November 19th
Bicycle Transportation Alliance, 618 NW Glisan, Suite 401
5:30 – 7:00pm

There’s a lot of work to be done to improve our roads — too much for the Bicycle Transportation Alliance to do alone. That’s why we’re offering advocacy training for the general public. Need speed bumps on your street? A bike rack in front of a local business? Maintenance of a bike lane? Armed with some basic knowledge, you can be a far more effective advocate for all of these things.

This training will cover basics like documenting a problem, identifying someone who can fix it, and getting them to do so.

If you would like to get more involved with transportation issues in your neighborhood, or even serve as a volunteer advocate for the BTA, you won’t want to miss this.

Thanks to generous sponsorship from Old Town Pizza, we’ll be serving beer!

I can not make it tomorrow but this looks very good. Will this be offered again? I’ve continued to call and email the PDX Safe service without success. I can’t even get the police to enforce the speed limit. Very frustrated in the SW.
