Tonight, Build the Future City in Gresham

Tonight we want to hear from anyone who lives, works, or travels in the Gresham area and knows what it will take to make bicycling safer and more popular for you and your neighbors.

The City of Gresham is currently seeking public input on its Transportation System Plan (TSP) priorities — a process that maps future city transportation plans — and this process will help the BTA determine which local projects are best served by our advocacy resources.

In addition to the TSP process, and in partnership with the City of Gresham Department of Environmental Services, we will be seeking input on what Gresham-area projects should be our top advocacy priorities in 2013 and beyond.

Join us at Gresham City Hall tonight, December 13th from 6-8pm to share your ideas.

    1. Encourage cycling with continued emphasis on bike lanes and encourage vigilant driver awareness of cyclists.

    2. The convenience of Wood village with proximity to necessary shopping destinations favors utilizing bicycle transport for short commutes with family. However the limited bike lanes and narrow streets make bike commutes a little hairy. We need more bike lanes for public awareness and bike safety.

    3. Encourage common commuting routes for children to bike to school.

Thanks for those ideas Dennis! It’s great to hear from folks who have regular experience riding in Gresham.
