League Certified Instructor Training and Traffic Skills Class, July 6-8

The BTA is  hosting an LCI seminar (that’s the League of American Bicyclists’ League Certified Instructor seminar) on July 6-8, 2012.

When: July 6 to July 8, 2012
Location: 618 NW Glisan Suite 401 Portland, OR 97209
Coach: Hal Ballard
Hours: 5 to 9 pm Friday; 8 am-one hour after sunset Saturday; 8 am to 3 pm Sunday
Registration fee: $300

All registrants must be a League member in good standing.

Becoming a League Cycling Instructor (LCI) certified to teach Smart Cycling is a great way to help cyclists in your community. Certified instructors can teach Smart Cycling classes to children as well as adults. Help bring the joy of safe cycling to others. If you are an experienced cyclist and would like to teach others please consider taking the next step towards certification. Instructors are trained at seminars held periodically throughout the year.

Rerequisite: Traffic Skills 101 Class, see below for details.

This LCI Seminar trains adults to be able to teach the League of American Bicyclists Traffic Skills 101 Class which participants  are required to complete prior to the Seminar.

In preparation for the LCI Seminar, the BTA will be providing an all day Traffic Skills 101 class on Sunday June 3rd,. The cost is $50 per person (scholarships available). Contact LeeAnne Fergason (leeanne@btaoregon.org, 503-226-0676 x26) to register.  You can also attend a Traffic Skills 101 class in Eugene on June 24th. Registration is required for the Eugene class.
